Marcella Macaluso, PhD is a Research Associate Professor-Biology and Director of the Epigenetic and Genetic Cancer Program at S.H.R.O. Also, Dr Macaluso is a member of the steering committee for the Professional Master in Bioinnovation at Temple University and serves as PSM Bioinnovation Professional Development Director

From several years now, Dr Macaluso' s research has been focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying epigenetic and genetic alterations in human cells leading to cancer formation and progression. Currently, Dr Macaluso research focuses on the link between environmental pressure and epigenetics regulation in normal and cancer cells Dr. Macaluso's research has been supported by the Department of Defense, National Institute of Health, several private international foundations and organizations, including SHRO. She is the author of over 50 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, serves as a member of editorial boards of professional journals, and is a frequent grant reviewer for federal and international funding agencies. Dr. Macaluso has mentored national and international graduate students and post-doctoral fellows. In the Bioinnovation Master Program, Dr. Macaluso teaches courses on Novel Bio-Concepts and Bio-Models, Pharmacoepigenetics and Pharmacoepigenomics, Application of Genetics and Epigenetics in Drug Design and Drug Response, Advanced Bio-Screening and Health Disparity.
