How To Apply

Applications to Biology’s graduate program should go through the Graduate School's online process. For an application to be considered, each of the following should be included: official transcripts from previously attended institutions, three letters of recommendation from individuals who have knowledge of the applicant’s aptitude in biology (at least two of the letters should come from a professor who has interacted closely with the student, or someone who can comment on their academic/scientific potential), results of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) (these can be waived for international students from top universities with an M.S. degree or equivalent), results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL, required for applicants whose first language is not English or who have not earned a bachelor's degree from a U.S. institution). Also included should be a personal statement explaining why the applicant wishes to become a Biology graduate at Temple, suggesting faculty members that the student wishes to work with. It is desirable to take contact with at least one of these faculty members in advance of application.
