Maximize Access to Research Careers Undergraduate Student Training for Academic Research

Under the Directorship of Dr. Jacqueline Tanaka, the Department of Biology is please to host the NIH-supported MARC U-STAR program to qualified junior and senior undergraduates.  The goal of the MARC program is to diversify biomedical research by recruiting and mentoring students from groups underrepresented in biomedical  research including racial minority students, first-generation college students, students with disabilities and low-income students.  The MARC program provides research opportunities with a stipend, financial assistance for tuition and mentoring to prepare students for competitive PhD or MD/PhD programs.
